Hatchet Club had a great camping trip last week! They started out at Jim's Siberian Outpost in Malone and learned about the Iditarod and even got to ride on the dog sleds. They then headed to Eagle River to learn about forestry and the timber industry at Trees for Tomorrow, one of WI's original CCC camps. As a last night bonding experience they headed to Eagle Lanes Bowling Alley to patronize a local business. #strongclassrooms

Our 2nd grade students had a great visit to the public library today! They heard stories, completed a directed drawing, and searched for books to borrow. Our district is partnering with Lakeview Community Library to help students get exposure to the public library in our community! Students in grades K-5 visit the library by bus on a 6-week rotation. In K-3, students have story time, crafts, and are able to check out books. For grades 4-5, students participate in book talks and check out books. Our goal is to help students develop a love of reading and realize that they have a library in their community to foster that love! #strongcommunityconnections
